Are you unemployed and looking for work?
Are you at risk of failing school because of your personal situation? Are you homeless or in emergency or temporary accommodation and need a job to move on? Are you under 21 unemployed and not entitled to a benefit? Are you just looking for a job and don’t have one right now?
Help Employment SERVICES ARE here to assist you:
- We trained 9 people in a partial certificate in preparation for Meatworks jobs. We had 9 Indigenous Australians who trained for 2 weeks in Toowoomba where they learnt to use and sharpen their knives as well as cuts of meat etc.
- All 9 finished the course designed by Help Employment to maximise recruitment of large groups all at once. The idea is about helping us strengthen partnerships with fellow providers and sharing outcomes with employers and all of the participants successfully starting full time work.
- Of the 9 people the first 6 started full time work in March. They are all doing very well. They have relocated and we have assisted with Mentoring, finding and securing accommodation, introductions to the local football and community.
- Initially they travelled home every weekend but now they are members of the community and local football team so have successfully relocated.
- Post Placement support has been done and all are doing well. The meatworks has started the remaining 3 and have requested we prepare another 20 job seekers for them.
