Over the years, we've helped tens of thousands of job seekers and local Queensland businesses thrive through our tailored employment and training options.

'Our Stories' is a collection of stories of both HELP job seekers and representatives of the disability community. As a division of Help Enterprises, we promote a culturally and linguistically diverse workforce and have a fully integrated, inclusive workplace; directly employing more than 370 staff with disability across our businesses.


Dinesh's incredible story after a life changing car accident. Dr Palipana works at the Gold Coast University Hospital - GCUH, where he treats patients with an empathy and understanding that goes beyond his injury.



Keiran’s dream of opening a cafe to employ people with a disability was something our team in Toowoomba had to be a part of. We assisted Keiran to make his dream a reality. Now open, the ‘My Ability Cafe’ has a powerful slogan – “I know. I can. I will. I am”



Hannah found her way to HELP through the "Bus Ride of a Lifetime" tour. The invitation had been extended to 'Butterfly Hands', a support and advocacy group for people who are deaf and hard of hearing. After registering with Help Employment & Training, Hannah was very quickly placed into work experience and offered an apprenticeship.


BEN'S LIFE AT 272.986 KM/H

Diagnosed with a degenerative eye-condition called 'Retinitis Pigmentosa' following a motocross accident at the age of 15, Ben Felten didn’t allow his blindness to define his future.



Selena wrote a heartfelt letter to Help Employment and Training about the support her job coach provided over the years to care for her anxiety.



"I love being told I'm inspirational after I give a speech. Totally, I'll high-five you right back... but please don't high-five me and tell me I'm inspirational for going grocery shopping."


murray's dream of working

Murray celebrated getting his new job and cried tears of joy as he was handed his very own work shirt at Country Range Farming, knowing he'd finally achieved his dream.


Breaking the unemployment cycle

Terry-Dee was determined to break the Centrelink cycle, having successfully found employment in the past but not able to maintain it for long enough. That was until she changed to HELP and was connected with the Indigenous Women's Business Program.

Simon has finally gained back his self-confidence and dignity, with special thanks to CPX for giving him another chance to prove himself in employment once again.


Beyond Keilay's Disability

stoddart creates new indigenous placements

Eight Indigenous job seekers are now successfully employed with Stoddart and the business couldn’t be happier.


jon becomes an apprentice

Jon had been searching for a secure job for what he says 'felt like forever' and couldn’t find anything fulfilling. After completing a PaTH internship at Eckersley Print Group, he landed an apprenticeship. Jon now has a career that he loves, as well as, seeing an overall positive improvement in his health and outlook on life. With a little extra help, anything is possible!

soraya's job Success

Meet Soraya, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander woman with no previous work experience but exactly the right enthusiasm to get her into work. With support from her Employment Coach and Direct Placement Specialist at Help Employment Deception Bay, Soraya achieved job success with a labor hire company and subsidiary of BlueScope, Northgate. Congratulations Saraya!
