Professional Development for Businesses
HELP was recognised for being the first in Australia to access the staff capability funding to build staff awareness and capabilities when working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses. In 2018, we provided staff training to over 120 employees, our workshops can be tailored to individual organisation needs for staff development.
Facilitated on-site or at your organisation, we aim to create a culturally safe environment to take participants on a journey and educate them on the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and histories. Appropriate for small size groups or large scale corporate staff training, this workshop can be tailored to suit your organisational needs.
Transgenerational Trauma Training (3-Day Workshop)
In this program we aim to educate participants on the ongoing effects of past trauma that has been passed on through generations. Through conversation and interactive workshopping we build an understanding of how to approach employees showing signs of disengagement or emotional trauma.
Indigenous Mentoring
Facilitated in addition to our other workshops, our mentoring provides post-placement support for employees for up to 26 weeks. We also offer employer mentoring to assist with staff retention goals. A more holistic approach to mentoring, our team actively takes part in home visits and interacts with family members to better understand and help our participants.
Deadly Women's Business
Designed to help indigenous women enter or re-enter the workforce through building new skills, confidence and overall wellbeing.
Terry-Dee's Journey
Terry-Dee is a perfect example of a job seeker finding value in Women's Business. She thrived throughout her time in the program and developed the confidence she needed to be successful in her role at the Youth Develepment Foundation, improving the lives of disengaged youth in the community. See Terry-Dee's full story.
When asked what the best part of the course was, our participants said:
